For Artists/Photographers/Students
The following services are available to artists, photographers and students by appointment. Please plan your reservations at least two weeks in advance, as the studio is booked on a regular basis and usually last minute request are difficult to schedule:
Digital Printing
Schedule your own printing time of your /your clients high-resolution files/prints: You can bring your own paper, or we can supply a variety of printing media (paper, watercolor paper, canvas, backlit film, fabric, etc. Available printers include Epson medium format printers and Epson 24″ wide format printer. All printers provide archival quality prints when using Epson media, with a 100 year+ stability if prints are display and storage instructions are followed. Prints used for display should be framed using UV filtered plexiglas, acid free matting/mounting boards, and sealed so frames are air tight on the verso. Fee: $15.per hour-we supply printer/ink, you supply the substrate (paper), $35.per hour if we supply both printer and paper substrate: other substrates available at an additional cost. Please contact us for more information. Fee is $35.per hour for mac station assistance on fine tuning and creating final image files.
One to one high resolution scanning of your prints, negatives or other original art:
Bring original 2D or 3D art for either direct scanning or photography with professional lighting. Options include using our equipment and lighting in oder to create your portfolio for both print and the web. For scanning, we work with you one to one. For photography, we set you up and you can do your own shooting with tech support available if needed. Fee is $35.per hour for one to one scanning sessions. For taking your own photographs, with or without tech support, the studio fee is $25. per hour.
Exhibit development and presentation:
with over 40 years working on both regional and national exhibitions, we have the knowledge and ability to create a powerful presentation of your portfolio or exhibit. Prints, portfolios, framing, matting, selective lighting, public displays, museum exhibits require both vision and budget to make what is envisioned a reality. A conceptual idea cannot be realized without proper funding. Provide us with information on your next event or display, and we will provide cost effective options for you to consider. Our experience includes preparing Van Gogh letters from Theo, his brother; installing Brancusi’s King of Kings at the Reina Sofia in Spain, installing Flavin, Kandinsky, Paul Klee, Giacometti, and working with artists, collectors and museums around the country. College Portfolio Preparation:
The artwork and photographs created for a college portfolio presentation must be consistent and provide a high impact presentation from the second the portfolio in under review. We work with students and their collection by scanning or photographing the originals, and creating a portfolio that reflects the best work in the most seamless presentation. Rather than have all art work consist of different sizes and mediums, scanning and photographing the original work will result in a portfolio that is easy to review, sizes are consistent, and quality is 99.99% of all originals reproduced through scanning or photography.
WordPress 101 workshop lead by Carey Baker:
WordPress is an open source web development tool that allows users to create and manage their own web site. Carey will offer clear wordpress fundementals that will allow you to design and upload your own images, products or other sources in order for you to gain confidence and the skills necessary to manage your own site. Workshop requires that you bring your own laptop with wireless access. WordPress 101 includes:
